Lithograph on laid Japan paper. Size of sheet: 40 x 35.5 cm. Inscribed in pencil 1er état and 1er épreuve. Roger-Marx 32, (I. / III.).
The lithograph is printed in black in the first state with pencil annotations (probably by the printer, Auguste Clot) 1er état and 1er épreuve, before the completion of the designand before the editioned state for Paysages et Intérieurs, published by Vollard, 1899.
An extremely rare print: Roger-Marx mentions two or three impressions in the first state. According to the inscription, our print is the very first pull-up of the first state. Depicted in a small salon the two players shown are Tristan Bernard and a young (standing) woman, Misia Natanson, wife of the publisher Thadée Natanson.
