To date we know of only six drawings by Heintz the Younger, all of which are signed. They are from every period of his artistic career and demonstrate the evolution of his drawing style.

In Dr. Jürgen Zimmer´s opinion our drawing is very probably also by Heintz the Younger and may lead to further attributions. It is probably a preparatory sketch for an altarpiece.
