Literature: Exh. Cat., Horsens Kunstmuseum, 1999
As one of the founding members of the group Mühlheimer Freiheit and the famous Spex magazine, Bömmels gained international attention for his drawings and hair paintings. Bömmels depictions of relationships show a pessimistic attitude, sometimes peaking in an erotic misery. His work seems to implicate already the failure of human contact, especially in regards of relations of love. (Christian Gödder: Secret Offer. Exh. cat. Horsens Kunstmuseum 1999. p. 37).
