The Neoclassical church of Santi Simeone e Giuda, called by locals San Simeon Piccolo, is one of the most well known churches in Venice, characterised by a colonnade facade visible from the railway station on the opposite bank of the Grand Canal. However, instead of representing the church's dramatic facade overlooking the Grand Canal, Sylvia Gosse chose to focus on a rear view of the church dome and on a few passer-byes, seen probably from Calle Nuova S. Simeone.
